The Software Solutions division has introduced ‘Projects Management Plan’ (PMP) to effectively manage its ‘Software Development Lifecycle’ (SDLC).
This improvement is rooted in the belief that quality of resources and effective management of the same contributes to building quality products and efficient solutions, which meet the demanding market requirements.
The PMP will plan, organize, track, execute and continuously improve the software development lifecycle and the supporting resources. In order to achieve higher levels of quality, the PMP is constantly monitored and reviewed at every step by a team which consists of chief operating officers, senior system architects, product managers and senior solution designers.
The weekly review discusses and baselines the key actionable and sets the timelines for each deliverable. To this effect, Vox is setting up video conferencing facilities to connect its offices in ME and India, ensuring optimal interaction and effective delivery.
The SDLC defines an imposed structure to the methods and procedures used for defining the complete development lifecycle of a software product, this structure is time bound and measurable at each level. It ensures that software features are required by the market, the features are designed and deployed in a manner acceptable to the users, that the final product is future proof and is constantly improved as per market demand.
An effective SDLC defines the various stages in software life cycle; Requirement, Function, Design, Interface, Development, Testing, Documentation, Deployment, Maintenance and finally, Feedback which essentially generates further requirement for improvement.
Vox has set up testing facilities in the Middle East and India, to complement this improved approach and expects to roll out the first software release based on the improved SDLC, in Sep 09. The following illustration explains the ‘waterfall’ model of SDLC.
